This item is very for traveling In Asia where there are mosquito problems. The included armband is great as you wo'nt need to worry about where to carry the device.

Under "Mosquito" mode the device produces no audible sound and under the "Dragon Fly" mode the device produces a low frequency clicking noise that's barely audible -- they don't get in the way of normal activities..

Note that the packaging says the unit drives away "male" mosquitos. After investigating into this interesting topic, we've confirmed that the unit works the following way:

Drives away female mosquitos by generating the sound a male mosquito makes while flying. Pregnent (blood sucking) female mosquitos are highly disturbed by this sound.
