"Holy Dog Day" Kukar-Tihar is celebrated in Nepal
during Tihar (knows as Divali in India) occurs sometime in October

 "Holy Dog Day" Kukar-Tihar is day of worship and appreciation of dogs in Nepal. The crow and ox  also have holy days. The same does not apply to goats however, that are often openly butchered and made as a sacrificed to the Gods during Tihar.
